Shift 4 acquires the new Leitz Primes

Jul 1, 2022

You may have already seen what the new Leitz Primes can do, as they’ve been used by some of our BSC colleagues on a several high-end productions.

And now, these state-of-the-art lenses are available for hire exclusively from Shift 4 – the only UK rental company stocking them. There are 12 focal lengths available, ranging from 18mm to 180mm.

Seamus McGarvey BSC ASC ISC shot Cyrano (2021), awarding him a nomination at the BSC Awards for Best Cinematography in a Theatrical Feature; Balazs Bolygo BSC HSC used them on the Netflix series Anatomy Of A Scandal (2022); and Tony Miller BSC shot the highly anticipated Mr. Malcolm’s List (2022) , which is coming to screens in July.

Shift 4 have just released a comprehensive lens test article (with downloadable 6K RAW files), exploring their technical and stylish capabilities – read it here.

The article explores what a highly regarded group of Cinematographers, DoPs, Focus Pullers and Camera Operators who joined Shift 4 for lens tests in London & Manchester thought of these lenses.

If you’d like to have a good look at the new lenses yourself then feel free to book a lens test here.
