May 9, 2023

Camera and lighting rental house Pixipixel has announced a Spring Showcase event, taking place on Thursday 11th May at its new Manchester location based at The Sharp Project.

For filmmakers eager to check out the latest kit on the market, Pixipixel will have on display the Arri Alexa 35 camera with a line-up of lenses including its new Olympus OM Zuiko and TLS Mamiya sets, as well as popular lighting fixtures from Aputure, Astera, CreamSource, Nanlux, Briese, Rotolight, and the eco-friendly Wattman PowerBank and VoltPax.

This will be Pixipixel’s first showcase in Manchester after its acquisition of Pro Motion Hire earlier this year. Since then, the businesses are consolidating operations under Pixipixel’s brand, which is bringing significant benefits to clients, including access to an expanded range of equipment and additional technical support.

As well as the event and branding plans, the company is announcing Danny Newton’s promotion to general manager of Pixipixel’s Manchester division. Newton has a vast experience and industry knowledge, having worked as operations manager within the business for five years.

Steve Knight, managing director of Pixipixel, said: “We are very excited about Pixipixel’s new Manchester base which is enhancing our capabilities to supply both camera and lighting to productions in the North. With this move we are delivering an even greater selection of equipment and expertise to our clients, providing support to creatives all the way.”

Pixipixel’s team are established as trusted rental partners to producers and filmmakers, having had supplied equipment to hundreds film and television dramas in the past few years since the pandemic. To name just a few: Netflix’s Treason, The Strays, and Heartstopper, Sky’s I Hate Suzie Too and Gangs of London 2, and Apple TV’s Bad Sisters, The Essex Serpent and Trying.

The spring showcase is open to all and will run from 12pm to 6pm on 11th May. Further details can be found here: bit.ly/3HCda1T
