PNYA Post Break to demystify post-production sound in part III of its “Turnover” series

Mar 15, 2022

Free video conference slated for Thursday, March 17 at 4:00pm EDT

Following two sessions devoted to picture, Post Break, the free webinar series from Post New York Alliance (PNYA), will turn its attention to sound in the third and final instalment in its series on editorial turnover. Harbor Picture Company sound editor Dan Timmons and award-winning Sound Supervisor Roman Chimienti will join moderator Ben Baker for an in-depth discussion of sound post-production and offer advice for assistant editors on how to guide projects through the final mix.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 17th at 4:00 EDT, Turnover to Sound | Part III, will provide assistant editors with the information they need to nail this crucial phase in post-production. It’s a not-to-be-missed session for anyone aspiring to work on motion picture or television projects in a New York editorial department. Register here.

Panelists

Dan Timmons, sound editor, Harbor Picture Company, is an MPEG member and a two-time nominee for MPSE Golden Reel Awards. Ben Baker has more than 22 years of experience in VFX and post-production in Australia, the UK and, for the last 12 years, the United States. Always working at the bleeding-edge of production technology (with the scars to prove it), he is also a board member of Post New York Alliance.

For the last 18 months, Baker has focused on virtual production, finishing the Epic Games Unreal Fellowship in March 2021, consulting for studios, networks and construction clients through Next Gen Production. He is currently serving as executive producer of the Entertainment Technology Center@USC’s latest R&D short, FATHEAD, in production on a volume stage in LA.
