The winner will be announced on Monday 22nd March 2021. Film sound nominees and winners are selected by their peers from a group of respected sound professionals who make up the AMPS voting membership.
Sponsored by Dolby Laboratories, Sennheiser and Twickenham Studios, the awards recognise the vital importance of a highly creative soundtrack in any feature film.
Nominees include production sound mixers, supervising sound effects editors and lead re-recording mixers. Also highlighted, are invaluable roles played by key sound 1st assistant (boom operators) and supervising dialogue/ADR editors. The awards acklowledge the skill and collaborative process it takes to acquire good, usable dialogue, the crafts of design and editing, and the bold and distinctive use of sound effects to produce first-class material to create the final mix.
AMPS is a craft guild made up of over 550 of the most imaginative and highly experienced creative talents working in the field of sound for film, television and games. Its members have been nominated or received a host of awards both in the UK and internationally and include many BAFTA, Oscar, Emmy, and MPSE winners.
