Independent camera, lens and grip specialists Movietech, have taken delivery of the new Servicevision Scorpio 17’ telescopic crane system at their Pinewood Studios Grip Department.
The 17’ model features all the characteristics of the renowned Scorpio crane family, with their exceptional smoothness and high precision performance in both low and high-speed movements. The lightweight, modular design allows the crane to be easily adjusted in a matter of seconds, without the need for any specialist tools. Built to take payloads of 60Kg in under slung and 40Kg in over slung, this highly versatile, three section system, is equally suited to shooting high octane car chases, or large-scale interior sets.
Speaking about the Scorpio, Movietech’s John Buckley says, “We’ve been steadily investing over the past year to extend our Grip Department. The new Scorpio 17’ is a great fit with our existing crane selection and is an ideal companion to our range of grip and camera accessories, such as the EZ remote head.”
The ongoing investment at Movietech Grip has also included the recent addition of the Grip Factory Munich Multi Jib. Portable, practical, and simple to set up, the Multi Jib is the ideal solution for carrying all general remote head systems.
Both the Scorpio and the Multi Jib offer compatibility with the Movietech camera and grip inventory at the company’s Pinewood and Cardiff bases.
John adds, “We’re immensely proud to be able to offer one of the industry’s most expansive product ranges. Our customers are constantly seeking creative new ways of capturing a shot, so, naturally, it’s important for us to provide access to the widest possible choice of equipment. We have a number of exciting new additions in the pipeline, which we’re looking forward to sharing soon!”
