The Film and TV Charity is excited to announce the launch of Behind the Scenes Week, the UK’s first week dedicated to celebrating everybody working behind the scenes in Film, TV, and cinema.
The charity is inviting everyone, from head honchos to new recruits, to #TurnTheCameraAround, and take a moment to celebrate one another.
Why Behind the Scenes Week?
It’s been a tough few years for everyone, not just in the industry but across the world. But, despite the hardships, the UK film, TV, and cinema industries have created and delivered some of their best work to date, informing, educating, and entertaining the nation – uniting us all with the power of truly world-class content. And that’s down to the contributions of everybody in the film, TV, and cinema community working together to create real magic.
The Film and TV Charity wants to celebrate the brilliant people behind that great work, and wants everyone to feel the love of that celebration, particularly those that might normally get overlooked. The Film and TV Charity wants everyone to feel valued and seen.
How you can get involved:
Using the hashtags #BTSW and #TurnTheCameraAround, share your “behind the scenes” photos, selfies, videos and memes.
On screen dedications – if you are working in live TV, or genres such as entertainment and fact ent, can we persuade you to #TurnTheCameraAround, just for a moment, to applaud all the people on set that the audience never usually sees?
Share your #HiddenHero with the world – we want to celebrate the people that make working in the industry special to you
“A day in the life” – To mark Behind the Scenes Week, The Film and TV Charity wants to celebrate a range of different working environments across the country, to show everyone the unique diversity of our industry. Get in touch with them about creating a short video that tells the world what a day in your life looks like.
Tell the world! Support us on social channels and engage with your networks to do the same.
Raise some money! The Film and TV Charity supports everyone working behind the scenes working in film, TV and cinema. Why not use #BehindTheScenesWeek to do a workplace fundraiser or whip round. The Film and TV Charity wants everyone to feel happy and proud to work in this industry.
