Cinematographer, Sarah Cunningham attended Tallinn Black Nights film festival in Tallinn, Estonia for the sold-out world premiere in international competition of Think Of England, the latest film from BAFTA-nominated writer/director, Richard Hawkins.
Father-daughter producing duo, Nick O’Hagan and Poppy O’Hagan attended, along with the lead cast, Jack Bandeira, Natalie Quarry, Ronni Ancona, Ben Bela Böhm, Ollie Maddigan, and Oscar Hoppe.
Set during WWII, the story revolves around six disparate souls who are sent on a secret government mission to make propaganda porn films for the boys on the frontline.
Reviews on the film have called it “visually vibrant” and Sarah’s work brings “a colourful, almost graphic novel-like sheen to the imagery, creating a playful contrast with the grimness of wartime Britain. The bright palette and careful composition help maintain a brisk energy, reinforcing the film’s quasi-comic tone without diminishing its darker strands.” (CineEuropa).

Shot over 21 days at Shinfield Studios and on location on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, Think Of England, is an example of indie filmmaking at its best.
The filmmakers also celebrated the Best Production Design award for Chris Richmond and David Hand at Tallinn.
