The retrospective exhibition Bill Viola: Wizje Czasu / Visions of Time, will be on view at the Centre of Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu” and the Tumult Foundation in Toruń, Kujawy-Pomorze Region.
Bill Viola is one of the most important new media artists in the world. His works—merging image, sound, and philosophical reflection on the nature of human existence—offer a deeply moving visual and emotional experience. Wizje czasu / Visions of Time presents 32 of the artist’s works, with core themes including time, memory, and spirituality.
The exhibition is the result of collaboration between two entities from different sectors: the private Tumult Foundation—co-organizer of the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival—and the state cultural institution Centre of Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu”. This partnership has previously brought to life numerous ambitious contemporary art projects, including exhibitions of David Lynch, Marina Abramović, Helmut Newton, Patricia Piccinini, Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway, as well as Julian Rosefeldt, all of which garnered significant public interest and critical acclaim.
Organized on the first anniversary of the artist’s passing, the exhibition will be open to the public from July 25 through December 31, 2025.
