Igniting Virtual Production with Fireframe & ARRI Solutions
Learn how ARRI’s Color Management workflow supported the production of “A Rare Grand Alignment”
Tuesday, November 15, 2022 – 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Seminar Room CKK Jordanki Festival Center

Fireframe Oy is a Helsinki-based virtual production company that wants to reimagine the way films are made. Fascinated and inspired by the creative possibilities of real-time technologies, they set out to bring this solution to Nordics, facilitating the film community in their home region.

The first feature production shot in the volume, “A Rare Grand Alignment,” directed by Cinqué Lee and lensed by John Christian Rosenlund, will premiere in early 2023. ARRI’s virtual production workflow specialists collaborated closely with the Fireframe team to ensure the very best image quality was captured throughout the production.

This 60-minute seminar with specialists from ARRI Solutions and the Fireframe creative team will go behind the scenes of the feature and the ARRI Color Management workflow integrated into Fireframe’s volume. The discussion will also outline the key learnings and experiences of the production team, not only from the stage floor, but also in installing and managing an advanced virtual production studio.

ARRI Signature Prime and Zoom lenses
Showcasing the look on Super 35 and Large Format
Tuesday, November 15, 2022
4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Main Theater CKK Jordanki Festival Center

The ARRI Signature lens look is unique. Audiences are enveloped into the images and connected to the storytelling without interference. From their warm, smooth skin tones to their soft bokeh and delicate flares, the ARRI Signature Prime lenses offer a unique, timeless look never seen before in cinema. The Signature Zooms carefully balance the requirements of a very high optical performance, pleasing look, and lightweight mechanical design. These proprietary lenses render a beautifully warm image, with smooth, flattering skin tones, natural colors, and elegant out-of-focus highlights for all formats: Large Format and Super 35.

See for yourself on the big screen what the industry is talking about and hear the latest practical advice from field experts. ARRI Camera Lens Specialist and veteran director of photography, Art Adams, serves as a guide through this collection of visually stunning reels. How these lenses perform with the new ALEXA 35 camera as well as the ALEXA Mini LF is also a focus of the session. You will learn too how both cameras take advantage of the new REVEAL Color Science, so combining Large Format and Super 35 in one film is now also possible with REVEAL.

ALEXA 35 camera, colour, and post workflow
Higher image quality, more accurate colours, faster workflow
Thursday, November 17, 2022
1 – 3 p.m.
Seminar Room CKK Jordanki Festival Center

For over a decade the ARRI ALEXA camera family has set the gold standard for digital cinematography. Now, ALEXA 35 raises the bar even higher with a new Super 35 format 4.6K sensor, REVEAL Color Science, and ARRI Textures.

Introduced alongside the ALEXA 35 is REVEAL Color Science, which is the collective name for a suite of image processing steps that, along with the new sensor, help the camera to record more accurate colors with subtler tonal variations. The new REVEAL Color Science takes full advantage of the sensor’s image quality and provides a fast, simple workflow, while ARRI Textures enhance in-camera creative control.

Florian Rettich, Senior Trainer & Consultant Digital Workflow solutions at ARRI, will host this seminar and together with ARRI Camera Lens Specialist Art Adams, attendees will learn essential information and how it can be applied through real-life examples. A Q&A follows the session where all questions are welcome.
